Description
Want fresh, homegrown kiwi right from your garden? Meet Actinidia arguta ‘Prolific’, a hardy kiwi vine that delivers both beauty and bounty. This vigorous climber produces clusters of small, fuzz-free kiwifruit that are sweet, tangy, and perfect for eating right off the vine—no peeling required!
In early summer, dainty white flowers fill the vine, attracting pollinators and adding fragrance to your landscape. By late summer into fall, the vines are loaded with bite-sized green kiwis that are packed with flavor and vitamin C. Unlike many kiwi varieties, ‘Prolific’ is self-fertile, so you’ll get fruit from just one plant.
This vine grows 10–12’ tall and 8–10’ wide, making it ideal for covering trellises, fences, or pergolas. It’s hardy in Zones 5–9, thrives in full sun, and only asks for rich, well-drained soil and regular watering to flourish. Perfect for edible gardens, pollinator-friendly landscapes, or anyone who wants to add a touch of the exotic to their backyard harvest.
