Description
If you’re looking for a tree that delivers four seasons of beauty and never blends into the background, meet the Smokeshow™ Kousa Dogwood. This compact, ornamental showpiece reaches 15–20 feet tall and brings drama at every stage—from rosy purple spring leaves and smoky white bracts, to glossy summer greens and punchy pink-red fall color.
In late spring, button-like flowers are surrounded by smoky, white-tinged bracts that create a cloudlike effect—hence the name. Then come raspberry-like fruits that hang on into fall, feeding birds and delighting anyone who catches a glimpse. Its neat, rounded shape makes it a perfect fit for front yards, patios, or borders, and it’s small enough to suit nearly any landscape without sacrificing presence.
Smokeshow™ is also a low-maintenance champion. It resists many common diseases that plague other dogwoods and adapts to sun or partial shade, depending on your climate. Just give it well-drained, moderately acidic soil, mulch the base, and water it deeply (not frequently) during dry spells. Pruning? Barely needed—its natural form is graceful and balanced.
Whether you’re looking to attract birds, build out a pollinator-friendly garden, or just want a truly stunning tree that doesn’t ask for much, Smokeshow™ lives up to the hype.
